How to Be Romantic With Gardens |

GARDENIA FOR MY GARDEN submitted by: Rachel Crawford
When my husband and I got married last summer, we
had our wedding at my mother's house. My mom and her best friend got
together and did all the flowers themselves. They are both very
talented in this area and did a wonderful job, utilizing mostly
flowers from their respective gardens (white hydrangea, played a
large role), but also several dozen purchased white roses, and some
wild Queen Anne's Lace gathered from roadsides. My only request was
that the flowers somehow involve gardenias, my favorite flower. Mom
came through and supplied a few for the arrangements, and many for
my lovely bouquet that she made for me.
What makes this especially special and romantic
for us, is that a few months later, my mom came to visit us and gave
us the gardenia bush from her yard where she gathered the flowers
for my bouquet. We planted the bush in our front yard, and plan to
take it with us when we upgrade to the next house, and any
subsequent dwelling. My husband pointed out our first bloom two days
ago!
