Jewelry Gifts from the Heart

RINGS THAT ARE "FUN" TO WEAR

I have two very special pieces of jewelry that I received from my sweetie when we were dating.

The first came after we had only been together for a couple of months, and I told him that I had dreamed that he gave me a beautiful ring with a huge stone in it. Later that afternoon he presented me with a plastic gumball
machine ring with a huge purple stone. It was the first "jewelry" he ever gave me. I wore it as proudly as others wear their huge diamonds, much to the ribbing of my co-workers. "Dump that guy if he can't afford any better
than that," they would say.

The second revolves around what has become our special symbol. For my birthday he gave me a cake and on top of it was my second piece of exotic jewelry. It was a plastic smiley face ring about 1 inch in diameter. Again, I wore it everywhere.

That's been 2 1/2 years ago, but I still have both rings (though they are not wearable, and have been replaced with "nicer" pieces, including a wedding ring.)
