~~~    From the Editor      ~~~
In the next few weeks I will be setting up a non-profit 501(c)3
foundation.  I have been truly blessed over the years and I want to
more effectively be able to share my blessings with others.
The main focus of the foundation will be to help families who are
truly in need, especially children without dads in their life.  My
foundation will provide scholarships to send needy children to summer
camps, buy them music lessons and sports/service club uniforms and
maybe even help single moms take courses to improve their earning
potential.  I dont want the foundation to simply throw money at
problems but to be instrumental in making positive, life-long changes
in the lives of those it helps.
It has been a goal of mine as long as I can remember to be actively
involved with philanthropy and I feel that now is the right time and
opportunity to form this foundation.  You can help me out by
suggesting a good name for it.  It is this weeks contest.  See below.
Have a giving week.  — Michael
~~~    Contest     ~~~

Last weeks contest winner is Eddy Gilpen of Salem, Virginia.

As mentioned in my editors notes, this weeks contest is a bit
different.  I am setting up a non-profit foundation to help families
in need.  The main focus will be children without dads in their life
but it will also give grants to those who make serious sacrifices in
their lives to volunteer with needy children.  Submit your ideas for a
name for the foundation.

Entries must be received by Monday. Thanks.

The winning entry will win a trip to TheRomantic.com’s ever growing
PRIZE VAULT which is filled with books, several board games including
Romantic Sensations, An Enchanting Evening and others, CDs, dance
lessons and other fun stuff at

Of all the romantic products I have recommended over the years, the
Timeless Message in the Bottle is the one that has gotten the most
rave reviews.  People constantly email me letting me know that the
gift has been greeted with tears of joy and the biggest smiles they
had ever seen.  Of course it is perfect for Valentines Day or to
celebrate any special occasion with those you love.  It is a gift that
wont be forgotten.  http://theromantic.com/timeless.htm

Edible Art
by Sara Williams
http://www.TheRomantic.com

One year for Valentine’s Day I made my sweetie a sugar cookie card.  I
made two big rectangle cookies with regular sugar cookie dough.  When
they came out of the oven, I poked two holes on the same side of each
rectangle, so that the cookies could be strung together with string
twizzlers to resemble a card or book.

Before I strung the two together, I wrote a poem on heavy paper and
fill out an order form for a magazine he wanted.  I folded the order
form so that it would fit neatly behind the poem and secured them to
one of the cookies with icing, then finished decorating both cookies
with the remaining icing I put them both in the freezer so that the
icing would set to the cookies.  When they were ready I took them out
and strung them together with the twizzlers then carefully wrapped
them in tissue paper and put it back in the freezer for my husband to
find the on valentine’s day morning.

As I suspected the next morning my husband, who is fairly curious
person, found the tissue wrapped gift and opened it to reveal his
card.  He like it so much that he didn’t want to eat it, which got me
worried because part of his present was underneath the poem.

I finally convinced him to eat it after we took pictures of it.  As he
sadly started to take the poem off the cookie he noticed the order
form hidden behind, and with a big smile on his face, he realized why
I insisted on him taking it apart.  After all the excitement we both
relaxed by eating his edible Valentine’s Day card.
