~~~ From the Editor ~~~
From a recent contest I ran on Valentine Disaster Stories, here are a
few tips I gathered from the many entries that came in if you want to
avoid a relationship disaster on February 14 or any other day.
1. Don’t involve yourself in romantic relationships until you are
mature enough to be married (yes teenagers, that means you).
2. Sex is something sacred and playing with it will only get you
burned.
3. Spending V-day alone is far better than spending it with someone who
is a jerk (even if you are dating him or her).
4. Drunkenness is rarely ever romantic.
Have a non-disastrous week. — Michael
~~~ Contest ~~~

The good news is that I have finally posted the *Valentine Disaster*
stories from the contest two weeks ago. The bad news is that I have
not yet been able to get the *Creative Valentine’s Day Gifts* stories
up from last week. Hopefully in the next few days.

So this week’s contest is for all of you to decide which story
deserves the award (3 prizes from the prize vault) for the most
disastrous Valentine’s moment.

The most disaster stories are posted here:
http://theromantic.com/valentinesday/disasters/main.htm

Please just vote for one story. Everyone who votes will also be
eligible to win a trip to the prize vault (which has received a lot of
new stuff recently).

Send your entry to tipofweek@aol.com and put *vote* in the
subject line.

We must receive your entry by Monday to be eligible.

TheRomantic.com’s ever growing PRIZE VAULT is filled with books,
several board games including Romantic Sensations, An Enchanting
Evening and others, CDs, dance lessons and other fun stuff at

~~~ Tip of the Week ~~~
Winner of an Idea
by Michael S. Anderson
http://theromantic.com/
My wife of 12 years has always HATED awards shows, but they have
always been a favorite of mine, particularly the Academy Awards.
After years of her bemoaning the fact that we had to watch that
“boring waste of time,” I decided to become slyly seductive.
The night of the awards show, I came home from work with a bouquet of
roses, a miniature gold-foil wrapped chocolate Oscar statue, and a
little card I had designed on my computer at work that read, “And the
award for the best performance as a wife and mother goes to …” with
her name inside the card.
Needless to say, my wife has enjoyed watching the Oscars ever since.
It has become another date night for us!
