Thank you to everyone who sent in some wonderful suggestions for
helping Athena with her icy feet problem. It is much appreciated.

If you have a marriage proposal story on my website —
http://theromantic.com/stories/proposals/main.htm, please email
me with your mailing address and phone number. I would like to
include some of those stories in my next book, The RoMANtic’s Guide to
Popping the Question. If you have photographs or video of the actual
proposal, please let me know that too.

Have an extra special week — Michael

Thanks to everyone who voted for the worst romantic gift. The clear
winner was Fire and Ice. If you haven’t read that story, you can find
it here: http://theromantic.com/stories/worst/main.htm

I pulled Ken Johnson’s (from Scotia New York) name out of the hat so
he wins last week’s prize. And Amanda Williams won the previous
week’s contest for submitting the Fire and Ice story.

This week’s contest is on GET WELL SOON. What fun and creative thing
have you done (or had done to you) when your sweetheart was sick and
you wanted to cheer him or her up?

HOW FANCY IS YOUR FORTUNE
by Michael Webb

A while back I sampled some gourmet fortune cookies from Fancy Fortune
Cookies (www.fortunecookiesonline.com). The cookies come in unique
flavors such as strawberry, lime, coffee, orange and about 10 others,
including original.

You can order the cookies hand dipped in chocolate for an extra
special treat (or you can even do it yourself). They sell a
sampler pack for five dollars.

There are two fun and romantic things you can do with these fortune
cookies. First, you can blindfold your sweetheart and have him or her
guess each cookies flavor as they take a bite. Take turns if you
like. Give prizes if you want.

Or you can use the fortune cookie as the packaging for a small present
or note. Here’s a trick for opening a fortune cookie. Don’t break it
apart and glue it back together like one person did who wanted to put
an engagement ring inside. Wrap the cookie in a moist paper towel and
microwave it on high for about 20 seconds. Take the cookie and
quickly open it up and put the ring, love note or whatever you want
inside before it begins to cool down and harden. Then put the cookie
back in the plastic sleeve and iron it closed.

Have fun.
