Takes the (Cookie) Cake
by Jill B
http://www.TheRomantic.com/
The year of my husband’s clinical rotations the kids and I let him
know that (even though his education had uprooted us), we
appreciated his efforts to improve himself and (potentially) improve
the family fortunes. We focused on the many career hats he’d worn
over the years.
At a specialty cookie gift shop the children selected several
designs to be created in frosting: ambulance for his years as a
paramedic; military figure for National Guard; doctor figure for his
current education, etc. Our original thought was to get a bouquet
of cookies-on-sticks, but ultimately we opted for a 1/4-sheet cake
sized chocolate chip cookie base.
A personalized message was surrounded by the various images (about 6
in total). We got our message across and Dad’s treat was extra
special to the children who helped “design” it. The “cookie cake”
was also a favorite of the whole family.
