~~~ From the Editor ~~~
This is when my summer camp volunteer work gets super crazy. Athena
and I have to process applications, payments, scholarships, health
forms and a million other details for the 160 campers and 60 staff
members for the one week camp we help run each summer. It probably
works out to be 4 months of full-time work for us when we add up all
the hours we volunteer through the year, but the kids are really
worth it.
And thanks to those who purchase my ebooks because the sales help
provide scholarships to many of the campers each year and gives us
the ability volunteer in this way.
Have a loving week. — Michael
Father’s Day is just about a week away.
What will you get your husband? If your husband is typical, there
are probably two things that will tickle his fancy. One would be
his favorite meal or dessert, maybe served in a unique setting or
way.
Another great gift is a day/night of fantastic love.making where you
orchestrate the whole thing and do something you have never done
before. Get creative with food, clothing, settings, music, etc. If
you would like some tips, check out my 500 Love.making Tips and
Secrets here: http://theromantic.com/lovemaking.htm
A few years back I did a really fun focus group assignment. Twelve
us sat in a conference room and the facilitator told us all the
details about a lawsuit of a lady who broke her nose in a wave pool.
After one hour they asked us if we thought the lawsuit had any
merit.
They paid each of us $150 which was a lot cheaper for them than
actually taking it to court. I have done quite a number of focus
groups over the years and they are always quite interesting and
typically pay $50 to $100 an hour.
If you live near a decent size city (75,000 or more), there are
probably a lot of assignments you can get. They also do a lot
online now. Check it out here:
Love In Black and White
by Christa Simpson
http://www.TheRomantic.com/
Last Year I thought of a great surprise for my husband for Father’s
Day. I took my husband, our two children Katelyn age 5, and Myles
age 2 down to the beach, we live in Norfolk, Virginia and so there’s
beaches everywhere.
I got some black and white film and just told my husband I wanted to
take some pictures of him and the kids on the beach, and didn’t tell
him why. We found an area where there was a sail boat pulled up
onto the beach and used that as a backdrop in most of the pictures.
I got some pictures like my kids leaning in to kiss their Daddy on
his cheeks, My husband sitting with his legs open and Katelyn
sitting in between his legs and then my son Myles sitting in between
her legs, my husband laying down on the beach with both kids ontop
of his back.
I put 4 pictures inside a really nice heavy duty frame and enlarged
the pictures so there’s on picture in each corner of the picture and
then in the middle I found a poem about a dad and put that there and
on each side in between the two pictures I had the kids sign it and
write I love you daddy.
