~~~ From the Editor ~~~
Some of you asked what I got Athena for our recent 15th anniversary.
I had wanted to do this for a long time and now seemed perfect
considering the house we are building. I got a 3 foot by 4 foot
professional oil painting done of our two children.
Have a picture-perfect week. — Michael
~~~ Contest ~~~

The weekly contest has returned now that I am back from summer camp.

This weeks contest is on “Romantic Chores”. How have chores added
romance to your relationship? Perhaps you did your spouses chores
or you wrote a secret note that was found inside the washing
machine. I’m sure there are a lot of ways you have used mundane
chores to be romantic.

Send in your story to tipofweek@aol.com and put “chores” in the
subject line. The winning story/idea will win a trip to the prize
vault. Must receive the submission by Monday to be entered.

TheRomantic.com’s ever growing PRIZE VAULT is filled with books,
several board games including Romantic Sensations, An Enchanting
Evening and others, CDs, dance lessons and other fun stuff at

Table for Two
by Michael Webb
http://www.TheRomantic.com/

For some people, the most romantic thing they do is take someone out
to dinner. That is a kind gesture, especially if the person you are
taking out does most of the cooking and washing up afterwards.

I don’t consider eating an ordinary meal at your average restaurant
particularly romantic. Just because you take someone to a fancy or
expensive restaurant, that doesn’t make it romantic either.
However, I do believe that dining at a restaurant (even your average
chain variety) can be truly romantic with a little advanced
preparation.

What makes dining out romantic are the elements of surprise,
atmosphere and thoughtfulness. Below are some suggestions on how to
make your next dining experience really romantic.

* Bring flowers to the restaurant in advance and have waiter deliver
them after dessert.

* Arrange to have the musicians play “your song.”

* Pretend to go to the restroom and give the waiter some jewelry or
other present to be hidden under the dinner rolls.

* Go to the restaurant where you went on your first date (or
proposed to her).

* Have the host slip a special note or card in the menu.

* Work with the chef in advance to prepare his or her favorite
dishes (not all restaurants will do this).

* Create a fake menu that includes made-up dishes that have some
sort of inside meaning or funny story.

* Arrange to have the waiter bring a small gift or card with every
course.
