As I write this we are having a wonderful rain shower. Athena and I
always take that as a clue to stop what we are doing, make a pot of
tea and enjoy each others company and the sights, smells and sounds
of nature.

As most of you know, I am running a several week contest where I
post about 20 love poems each week that have already been submitted
for the contest (not accepting any more).

Each week, you subscribers will vote on your favorite in the new
batch. At the end of the contest I will put all the weekly winners
together and you will vote for your favorite among those. That
final winner will win a $100 Barnes and Noble gift certificate.

Each week the poem winner will win a trip to the prize vault as well
as one person from all those who cast a vote in that weeks contest.

This is an email I received this week as a follow-up to a mystery
shopping phone call I got.

"The music survey will last approximately 2 to 2 hours and you will
receive $65 for your time. We ask that you arrive at least 20
minutes early so that we can sign you in and seat you. Please bring
this letter and a valid driver's license or picture ID so that we
can easily identify you. The survey will start on time. If you
arrive after the interview has started and you cannot be taken into
the group, we will be unable to pay you for your opinions."

Both Athena and I have done this music survey a few times now.
Getting paid $65 to listen to music and rate it for two hours isn't

Calculate Your Anniversary

I received this email from a subscriber, notifying me of my 5,555
day anniversary this Thursday. David regularly sends me such
wonderful ideas. It sounds complicated to figure out but if you
know Excel, it isn't at all. If you can't get it to work, go to
this AA site and it will do something similar

You probably did not know this, but this Thursday is your 5,555 day
anniversary of your wedding. To figure out when the big days are
coming, plug your marriage date into Excel in A1. In A2 type
=today() and today's date automatically appears. In A3 type =a2-a1
and the difference in days appears, but in date format. Simply
click a3 and under the format menu click CELL. In the FORMAT CELLS
window the NUMBER tab shows up first. Under category click NUMBER.
The cell A3 will now show the number of days since your wedding. To
find the next interesting anniversay, simply put the next round
number in A4 (such as 6000). In cell A5 put the formula =A1 + A4
The cell A5 shows when your 6000th day anniversary occurs.

My wife was surprised when I brought her 4 flowers on our 4,444 day
anniversary.
