While visiting the laundrymat (or doing laundry at home), bring a
board game to play with your sweetie.

Last weeks contest on Kitchens was not too successful (maybe it was
too broad of a topic).  While I did receive some ideas, most were ones
that have already been written about in this ezine.  So I’m not
putting any up on my website.

I think this week’s contest will be great though.  What creative or
out of the ordinary way have you used COOKIES to express love in a
relationship?

Submit your real life story and I’ll choose the best to win a trip to
prize vault which is filled with board games, CDs, books, professional
dance lessons and more. http://theromantic.com/prizes.htm

To enter this week’s contest, send your entry via
e-mailto:tipofweek@aol.com

Submissions must be received by Monday to be eligible for the prize.

ADDITIONALLY, Athena and I LOVE cookies.  If you think you can make an
award winning batch of cookies, then make some for -or with- your
sweetheart (very romantic you know) and send a few to Athena and me
and we’ll do a little cookie judging contest.  The best cookies we
taste will win a grand prize pack including An Enchanting Evening
board game and each of my 5 ebooks — worth over $110.  If you can,
please include the recipe.

We must receive the cookies by Friday, September 6 to be eligible.
Please wrap tightly (in plastic wrap or similar) so they don’t dry out
much.  Priority mail isn’t very expensive and will get here quickly.

Queen or King for the Day
by Michael Webb
http://theromantic.com/

(while this is written specifically on making the lady of your life
your Queen for the Day, this idea can also apply to women who can make
their guy King for the Day)

Decades ago, there was a television show called “Queen for the Day.”
A woman, typically under a lot of stress, was given the surprise of
being named queen for the day.  The scenario went something like this:
maids would come and clean her house top to bottom, a limousine would
pick her up and take her on a shopping trip, a beauty treatment, then
out to dinner with her husband.  And she felt like she was a queen for
a day.

You don’t need a camera crew and a lot of money to treat your wife to
a queen for the day episode.  You can arrange for a friend or neighbor
to take care of your children, if you have any.  If you explain the
situation, most ladies would be more than willing to help you out with
the plan.  If you can’t afford to hire a professional maid for a day
or half a day, try locating a teenager or someone else who would clean
house for less money.  Then take your wife somewhere she would like to
go, perhaps to the park or zoo.  You could plan ahead and pack a
picnic for the event and have it kept at a friends house so she will
not be suspicious by seeing picnic supplies in her refrigerator.

The Queen for the Day plan works best if you are able to surprise her.
But if you have to fill her in ahead of time to make certain she
doesn’t plan anything else for that day, just tell her as little as
possible.

Most importantly, is that you make her feel special and feel loved.
Kind words, cards, small gifts and your attention will go a long way
in making her truly feel as though she is a queen for the day.
