I’m putting the final touches on the Nov/Dec issue of
The RoMANtic Newsletter before it goes out to press. I think it
is one of the best issues yet.
If you haven’t already ordered a subscription you can do so at
http://www.TheRomantic.com
I’ve rearranged the order of the items in the e-zine. It’s the Little
Things will come first, then the Weekly Contest update and finally the
Tip of the Week.
Thanks for all the feedback you give me. It helps a lot. — Michael

James Thibodeux of Santa Barbara, California was last week’s winner
of The Relationship Toolbox. I hope to have his idea posted on my
site by the end of the week (been having technical difficulties).
This week’s contest is on creative dating. I got so many great
entries the last time I did this several months ago and I have many
more new subscribers who probably have great dates they can tell about
too.
So, what was the most creative date you planned or experienced?
The winner receives a set of Romantic Magnetic Poetry. If you dont
win you can buy a set at most bookstores — but it will cost you $15.
E-mail your entry (with mailing address) mailto:tipofweek@aol.com
Your e-mail needs to be received by Monday, October 11.

GOT MILK?
by Michael Webb
As I have mentioned several times before in this e-zine, sometimes the
gift isn’t nearly as important as the way you give it.
I remember from my childhood how my six sisters and I would fight over
the “prize” inside the cereal box. We would go to great lengths to
make certain we got the prize which was inevitably at the bottom of
the box. Mom would have to go to even greater lengths to make certain
we played fair. She outlawed opening the cereal box from the bottom
which was my favorite trick. She wouldn’t even let us dig for the
prize. She insisted that we pour just one bowl full of cereal and if
it didn’t come out on its own, then tough luck. Heaven forbid if we
were caught sticking our hands in the box.
Eventually, I think my mom stopped buying cereal with prizes in it to
cut down on the sibling squabbles. It sure has been a long time since
I had a cereal toy. I kind of miss it.
As I write this, I am trying to think of a small present I could hide
in the box of Athena’s favorite cereal.
Even a small card tucked among the Fruit Loops would make anyone’s
day. Besides the card or gift, you could lace the cereal with candy
hearts, Hershey’s Kisses or M&Ms for added pizzazz. I recall wishing
that there were more colored marshmallows in each box of Lucky Charms.
If someone surprised me with a box that was chock full of green
clovers, blue moons, yellow stars and pink hearts I would be in cereal
heaven. Sometimes I also crave other childhood cereals such as
Captain Crunch, Sugar Pops and Boo Berry. I could go for a great big
bowl right now.
Everyone has a cereal craving now and again. Do you know your
sweetheart’s cereal fantasy?
