My husband was in the opening ceremony at the Olympics last year. The local newspaper had a picture that he happened to be in (although it was small!). I called up the newspaper and asked if they could enlarge the photo of him and send it to me before Father’s Day. They obliged (of course they would, it cost $50!) and said they would have it on the way. They actually sent 2 pictures because they weren’t sure if I wanted the whole thing enlarged or just the portion with my husband on it. I took them both and had them matted and framed and at the bottom had a small plaque made that said:
“2001 Olympic Opening Ceremonies”
“GOLD MEDAL DAD”
I hung it in place of his favorite picture over the fireplace. He came home and saw it that evening and loved it!
