Halloween does often pose a rather difficult day for the perfect date. It’s not like you can make ghosts and goblins that romantic. Also, the cliche Halloween party where you and your counterpart rack your brains trying to come up with creative costume ideas never makes for a pleasant evening.
Last year, however, I came up with a great idea. I took my girlfriend to a local pumpkin patch/farm where we enjoyed a relaxing day “pumpkin pickin”. While there, we carved the cutest jack-o-lantern with big hearts for eyes and large lips (think Rolling Stones) using paper stencils that I prepared beforehand.
The stencils were really easy to make. I just traced them on paper. She really loved the fact that I had planned out the stencil idea before hand, and my efforts were rewarded with a big kiss.
Then, when it got a little darker outside we went on a romantic hayride that stopped along the way for a marshmallow roast. Who knew snuggling in the hay was as much fun as a roll in the hay? And, to be able to enjoy some s’mores with your significant other really is an experience to be cherished.
