THANKSGIVING PUMPKINS

submitted by: Michael Webb, Author, The Romantic's Guide

Fall is such a romantic season. Strolls under the harvest moon. Dunking for apples. Watching the leaves turn to glorious shades of copper, burgundy and flaming tangerine. But what I look forward to most each fall is – pumpkin pie.heart pumpkins

I heard a while back that the most exciting fragrance for men was not some expensive perfume, but the smell of pumpkin pie. I agree.

Of course I do look forward to eating the pie, but the whole ritual of making it can be nearly as rewarding (I did say “nearly”). First, you have to get yourself a pumpkin or two. Out of the can just won’t cut it. Then you carve it. No, not with some stupid monster face, but with hearts cut out all around or some other romantic design.

Then work together with your sweetheart to make the pie together. I usually mix all the goop while my wife makes the crust. She makes the best crust in the whole world. Make some fresh hot chocolate while the pie is baking and maybe whip up a batch of fresh whipped cream.

When the pie is done, take it out of the oven to cool (and to fill the air with its aroma). Meanwhile, place a candle inside the pumpkin. Then turn off all the lights so candle will reflect the cut out hearts all over the room while you devour the pie with your best friend.
