There was no issue sent out last week due to the Christmas holiday.
Some people sometimes ask why I didn’t put their story or idea on my
site. Let me briefly explain why I might not put something on my
site:
1. It confuses intercourse with romance
2. It is a suggestion of something you *would* do, but you never
actually did it. I’m looking for real life stories.
3. It is an idea that is very common
4. I already have one or more very similar ideas on my site
5. While its a great idea, it is so unique and personal that
practically no one else would be able to do anything like it.
I hope you have a wonderful and prosperous 2003.
Have a new beginnings week! — Michael

If you recall, the last contest was to have you vote on the first set
of Romantic Gifts Under $20. It appeared that you too had a hard time
choosing. But in the end *Gum Wrappers and Ticket Stubs* received the
most votes. So, Kim Gates gets to go to the prize vault to choose her
prize.
From all who voted, I picked out Len Kamerman’s email. Len, go pick
out your prize too.
This week’s contest is to once again do some voting. I put up the
second batch of $20 Romantic Gift ideas and you get to pick the
winner. Again, you can vote for up to three. From everyone who
votes, I’ll pick one person to pick a prize from my ever growing PRIZE
VAULT, filled with books, An Enchanting Evening board game, CDs, dance
lessons and other fun stuff athttp://theromantic.com/prizes.htm
Here is the next batch of creative ideas to read and to vote on:

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow
by Michael Webb
http://www.TheRomantic.com
Several years ago it was a rare snowy day in North Carolina. My wife
Athena was at the time working in a high-rise downtown and I was going
to pick her up from work as I typically did. She had an office on the
eighth floor which overlooked the street out front. Before she came
down to the car, she would first look out her window just to make sure
I was parked down below.
Before I left home, I took a squirt bottle and filled it with ice
water and put a packet of cherry Kool-Aid in it. Any cold, red liquid
would have worked just as well.
When I arrived in front of her office building, I quickly got out of
the car and squirted “I Love You” on the white, snowy roof. It was
important to use ice cold water as even lukewarm water would have
instantly melted the snow.
I knew Athena would look down and recognize the car and know instantly
the message was meant for her, but I did not expect to see dozens of
other faces peering out the office windows and calling their friends
and coworkers over to look down at the curb below. In addition I got
quite a few stares, smiles and thumbs up as people walked pass me
while I waited in the car for my wife to descend.
Even if your spouse doesn’t work in a high-rise with a window facing
the street, you can adapt this idea to other occasions. You might
have a two story house with a lawn out front or back that can be a
canvas for your creativity. In the fall you can create poetry with
leaves and in the summer you can cut messages with a lawnmower. A
slanted roof is another slate where you can leave your mark. Just be
careful up there.
