Before I give you the Tip of the Week, I thought I would clue you
in on a couple of romantic contests on the web since you 5000 are
probably the most romantically literate around.

The first contest is a love letter writing contest and the grand prize
is an all expense paid week for two to Jamaica. The contest is
sponsored by www.muhnchies.com and they have asked me to be
the celebrity judge.

The second contest will be formally announced any day. The grand
prize in the “Log-In, Love-In” contest is a trip to Verona, Italy;
Casablanca, Morocco and a trip on the Nile. Athena and I have been
to Verona and on the Nile and they are VERY romantic places. Enter
the contest at www.egreetings.com

The third contest has a deadline of Jan 28 so you need to act fast. It is
on the www.hallmark.com site and the winners will have a professionally
designed and illustrated Valentine’s card created just for them.

This is the time of year that I show up in newspapers, magazines, television
and radio more than any other. I would like to ask you to send me any
newspaper stories you see about me or The RoMANtic. If you do, I
will send you a couple of free issues to the newsletter. The address is below.

Now, to the Tip.

Right after Valentine’s Day and sometimes even before you can find roses
that are deeply discounted or even thrown in the trash because they are
wilting. Doesn’t matter. All you need are the petals anyway. If you gently
wash the petals they are edible. You can put a couple on top of a dessert
you lovingly make. You can use petals to create a trail to where
their present awaits them. Toss a few petals into a hot drawn bath, gently
resting on a mountain of bubbles.
