Later this week I’ll be flying off to Texas for a summer camp
conference. Athena and I have been volunteering to help run a
one-week Christian summer camp near Asheville for 8 years now.
Each year I get together with other camp directors to share thoughts,
dreams and ideas on making camp better and better.

Since I’m going alone, I’ll be able to use some Long Distance
Romance ideas from my own site.

CAMP LIVING ROOM

For several weeks, we had been planning on taking a camping trip
to try out our new tent. Everything was ready to go when I got off
work on Friday afternoon. Just as we finished loading things into
the car it started pouring and thundering.

We were very upset because we had been looking forward to having a
great time together. We decided that a little bad weather wouldn’t
keep us from enjoying ourselves.

No… we didn’t go camping in the rain, but instead we decided to
have a campout in our apartment. It was a blast. We set up the tent
inside our living room.

We rolled out our sleeping bags, lit our campfire (candles), got
out the flashlight, and opened our living room windows so we could
hear the wind and the insects chirping.

The next morning we woke up and cooked breakfast outside on our
Coleman camp stove.

It was one of the best weekends Allyson and I ever had.
