~~~ From the Editor ~~~
Looking for Jackie Hostetler
I recently received this email.
“Hi, my name is Andrew. I was searching and found an idea for asking
someone out and it sounded familiar. I kept reading and discovered
that it was submitted by someone of the same name that did the same
thing to me. I was wondering if it could be the same person. I’m
looking for Jackie Hostetler who suggested taping interviews with
friends and teachers and then delivering the tape to the intended. If
you could please pass my email address onto her I’d sure appreciate
it. I’d love to know how she’s doing. Thanks!”
If Jackie is out there, let me know and I’ll put you two back in
touch.
North Carolina is beautiful all year round but right now in the
Raleigh area it is just exploding in blooms. Athena and I are trying
to take time each day to visit gardens, take long walks or find other
ways to enjoy the beauty of God’s creation.
Have an appreciative week. — Michael
~~~ Contest ~~~
Last week’s contest was a lot harder by judging from the amount of
correct answers I received. The trick Beaver question stumped quite a
few.
I am running a 6 week contest where you will need to solve puzzles and
collect clues each week. Each week you will receive one final clue
which you will use to solve the grand puzzle at the last week. You
don’t have to have all the clues to solve the final puzzle, although
it will be a bit difficult without some of them.
Each week, correct entries will be eligible for prizes and the those
who can solve the final puzzle will be entered to win the Big Prize.
We are now in week four. If you want to solve previous weeks
puzzles, you can find the back issues here:
http://theromantic.com/romantic/main2005.htm
Here is the first puzzle to solve to get you on your way.
Which river begins in a country that begins with the letter Z
continues to a country that begins with the letter A and eventually plunges
into one of the most magnificent waterfalls on earth?
Using the answer in all lowercase, plug it into this URL and it will
take you to the correct page on my website. If it is wrong, you will
get an OOPS. www.theromantic.com/____.htm
Everyone who enters the weekly contest will be eligible to win a trip
to the prize vault.
We must receive your entry by Monday to be eligible.
TheRomantic.com’s ever growing PRIZE VAULT is filled with books,

Evening and others, CDs, dance lessons and other fun stuff at

~~~ Tip of the Week ~~~
The Gift Tree
by Michael Webb
http://theromantic.com/
How many times have you heard a woman say “it’s the little things that
are important”? This following idea capitalizes on the concept that
it is often better to give 5 gifts valued at $10 each than to give one
gift valued at $200. I like to call this idea the gift tree.
First you need to go to a stationary, party supply or gift store and
purchase several empty gift boxes in different sizes that can be
stacked upon each other. The largest, of course, is at the bottom and
the boxes get smaller as you stack them. It is best to stick with the
same shaped boxes whether they’re round, square, oblong, or
rectangular. The real trick now is to find something small yet
meaningful to put in each of the boxes.
Perhaps your sweetheart is a chocoholic? Different types of chocolate
bars, truffles or candies could be placed in each box. Maybe he or
she is a sports nut? Fill the boxes with basketball tickets, a cap
with their favorite team on it, a packet of trading cards, a baseball
and other paraphernalia. You could do the same for someone with
interests in traveling, music, computers, fashion, or even dinosaurs.
Buy a large ribbon and wrap it under the base and tie it into a bow at
the top of the stack. You could get really creative and wrap some
twinkle lights around the “tree”. Whether you allow the “giftee” to
open all of the boxes at once or make them wait minutes, hours or days
between the boxes is your call.
