There was no issue last week. Sorry about that.

As mentioned before, I received a challenge grant of 10,000 to provide
summer camp scholarships through my Love One Another Foundation.  I must meet the challenge by the end of the month to receive it.  I only have a few days left, so 100% of all ebook sales will go toward the goal for the rest of the week.

You can see my 7 ebooks here:http://theromantic.com/books.htm

If you have been considering buying one, please do so by the end of
the month so I can help send more kids to camp.

Have a thoughtful week.  — Michael

Strawberry of My Eye
by Michael Webb
http://www.TheRomantic.com

Spring is probably my favorite time of year.  It’s when the birds sing
their most beautiful songs on my window ledge.  The flowers and trees
here in North Carolina are at their majestic peak.  And it’s time to
pick strawberries!

Spending an afternoon picking the crimson fruit with Athena is a
rewarding date.  We pick a few berries and then eat one.  Pick some
more, eat some more.  Eventually, we fill up our buckets and make our
way home.

One of the very first things we do is wash enough to fill two bowls,
sprinkle a tiny bit of sugar on top and then pour in some milk.  Yumm.

Somehow washing and cutting up strawberries doesn’t seem like a chore,
unlike broccoli or cauliflower.  I guess it is the anticipation of all
the wonderful things we will be able to make with our two buckets of
bright red fruit.  Strawberry pie, strawberry shortcake, strawberries
and whipped cream, strawberry tarts, strawberry smoothies and the list
goes on and on.

We usually freeze about half of our pickings for future berry desserts
and eat the other half in that first week by putting them in our
breakfast cereal or on top of ice cream in addition to the incredible
desserts Athena makes.  The same holds true if we go to an orchard and
pick blueberries.  Some people have apple, peach or blackberry picking
dates.

Go pick some fruit with your peach this spring or summer.  It’s
inexpensive, it’s good exercise and it’s berry delicious.
