BALLOONS THAT WILL NOT GO BUST
by Mary Boardman

A few years ago, I bought balloons in all shapes, sizes and colors. I
think there were hardly any balloons left in our city. Then I rented
a hotel room and took the balloons with me. A friend and I worked all
day blowing up the balloons. Once we had nearly filled the entire
room, to the point where you could no longer walk around without
having to push your way through balloons, we left for the day.

The next day, I had a message tied onto a balloon and delivered to my
husband. In essence, the message said show up at The Hotel, Room No.
21 (for 21 years of marriage). I went to the hotel that afternoon and
blew up the last of the balloons. I had pushed my way through the
balloons to the other side of the room, blew up the remaining balloons
so the room was packed so full he could only get the door open a
crack, just big enough to get himself through. Then the fun began as
we chased each other through the balloons. We laughed so hard. It
made for a memorable anniversary.
