Did you know that August 10-16th is Resurrect Romance Week? You
might be hearing a bit about it this year as many newspapers and
radio stations are reporting on it. I know quite a bit about it as I am
the one who founded it three years ago. The main reason I came
up with the holiday (which comes exactly 6 months after
Valentine’s Day) is to the emphasis on romance back where it belongs —
personalization not commercialization.

The rules for Resurrect Romance Week are simple. Do something
special for your sweetheart every day that week — but don’t go
out and buy anything. Share your love with actions, not your VISA card.
And if you want to give a gift, have it come from your hands, not the
Hallmark Store.

If you manage to do something every day you will realize how easy and
rewarding it is. Then you can work on becoming a year round romantic.

Here are a few ideas on celebrating the week to get you started.

· Go to a gurgling brook and race leaves or rubber duckies
· Use chalk to write loving welcome home messages on the sidewalk
· Put love notes and Hershey Kisses in your sweetheart’s box of cereal
· Tie a message and balloons to the bottom of the garage door with a
foot of
string — they will magically rise in the air when the door is opened
· Brush her hair for ten minutes before going to sleep
· Fax a photocopy of your hand to their office so they can “hold” it
while you
are apart
· Use Rain-X Anti-Fog and a cotton swab to write love notes on bathroom
mirrors – message magically appears when the mirror steams up

“Why must romance be celebrated only on Valentine’s Day? It doesn’t
have to be
thanks to Resurrect Romance Week.” – Portland Oregonian
