I received a great tip from a reader regarding last weeks idea on
making a carved pumpkin candle.  If you sprinkle cinnamon on the
inside of the lid or other places in the pumkin where it might heat
up, the room will smell like pumpkin pie.

If you would like to receive 33 questions you absolutely must ask your
partner, send an e-mailto:4questions@getresponse.com — it is
estimated that 83% of divorces would be prevented if certain questions
were asked.  There is no charge for these 33 questions.

Have an inquisitive week.  — Michael

Last week I wrote a little about how you can earn easy money by doing
mystery shopping.  The only thing I like better is participating in
focus groups.  I have done this ever since Athena and I moved out to
North Carolina.  There are many different types of focus groups or
*market research*.  Companies would much rather spend several thousand
dollars to get peoples opinions on a product before they spend up to a
million dollars to launch or change that product.

A couple of times I even performed in a mock jury.  They got 12 of us
in a room and shared the evidence over 2 hours.  Based on our feedback
they decided to settle out of court instead of going through a lengthy
and expensive trial.  My payout for 2 hours – $150.  You can even
perform a lot of market research opportunities online.  You can find
out more at:http://theromantic.com/marketresearch.htm

Taping that football game or other show and watching it later so it
doesn’t get in the way of good couple time (not to mention all that
time you save by not watching the commercials).

<3~    Contest     ~<3

This week’s contest is to judge the entries to last week’s contest on
*Romantic Diets*.  Many of you have told me how much you appreciate
being able to participate in contests that way so I will continue to
let you judge the contests.

Since there are only 8 entries, just vote for 1 story that you think
best reflects a romantic way to support and encourage your sweetheart
as they diet.  Here are the entries:
http://theromantic.com/stories/diet/main.htm

Send your vote via e-mailto:tipofweek@aol.com – please
put *diet vote* in the subject field.

From everyone who votes I will pick one person to win a trip through
TheRomantic.com’s ever growing PRIZE VAULT filled with books, several
board games including Romantic Sensations, An Enchanting Evening and
others, CDs, dance lessons and other fun stuff at

Entries must be received by Monday.

A Week of Gifts
by Shannon Rasmussen
http://www.TheRomantic.com

I was leaving for a week in Mexico with a girlfriend, but my fianc
was staying behind.  So, I created a package of gifts for each day I
was gone.  I put the gifts in a locker in the airport, and when we
were saying goodbye, I gave my fianc  the key to the locker.  He said
he often waited up until midnight to open the next day’s gift!  Here
are some of the gifts I enclosed:

*Ron had bought me a bottle of Dom Perignon once as a surprise, and I
had saved the bottle.  I made a rebus note, and put the note into the
bottle.  I snuck over to his house, and hid the bottle in his bedroom
closet behind some sweaters.  Then I had a set of clues that he opened
that led him to the bottle/note.

*I made a crossword puzzle that was all about us.  (ie.  We went here
on our first date.  We experienced our first kiss here.  etc.)

*I took a children’s puzzle, and turned the pieces over.  Then I wrote
a love letter on the puzzle pieces.  Ron had to put the puzzle
together to find out what I wrote.

*I gave him a book of home plans because we are planning to build a
home together.  I marked elements I loved in the different plans, and
encouraged him to dream of our future.

*I gave him 100 Shannon dollars, along with a menu with prices.  He
gets to use the Shannon dollars for whatever items he wants.  (i.e.  a
foot massage was $15.00)

Ron loved the daily reminder of me, and I loved picturing him opening
every gift.  It made us feel like we were together, even though we
weren’t.
