~~~  From the Editor ~~~
Our family loves Christmas. One of the reasons is  that there is so
much rich symbolism that can be found through the many, many  elements
(probably more than every other holy day and holiday  combined).
However, something that has never had much meaning to me is  the
rampant consumerism. So my family doesn’t spend money on gifts
(we  honestly have everything we could ever need). Instead we are
helping to build  a well for a village in Africa that does not have
clean water.
I was  delighted to find that my family is not alone in the fight
to replace  Christmas consumerism with Christmas compassion. You can
read about this  movement in this website:http://www.adventconspiracy.org
Have  a joyous week.  —  Michael
long you’ve been married. The same goes for  your handsome  groom.
most craves?
The problem is that he probably won’t tell you  exactly what they are.
But I’ll share his secrets with you.
~~~  Contest ~~~

Thanks to all who entered last weeks contest.

From  all the correct entries I randomly chose a winner for last week:

Bill  Arsenault of Burnsville, Minnesota (I believe Bill enters
every week and has  even won before).

Answer to last week’s question: Stingray City, Cayman  Islands

*** This week’s contest: What color was the one ornament on  Charlie
Brown’s “pathetic” Christmas tree?

Search  http://www.TheRomantic.com/ for the answer.

Email your answer to me at  tipofweek@aol.com and put “ornament”
in the subject line.  In the text  of the email give me your answer
along with your name and city where you  live.

From all the correct answers I will pick one person to win a  trip
to the prize vault.

TheRomantic.com’s ever growing PRIZE VAULT is  filled with over 100

A while back I mentioned how I have made up to $75 an  hour being
part of focus groups.  The most memorable one is where I was  part
of a mock jury and we heard all the facts about a potential  court
case and was paid $150 for two hours of work.

Some said the link  to the website where you can find out about focus
groups in your city wasnt  working so I am putting it here again  —
http://theromantic.com/focusgroup.htm

Most of the focus group  meetings can take place in the evenings so
those with full time jobs can even  participate.  If you are a man
or a minority you can make even  more.

In recent years a lot of focus groups began taking place online  so
you can live in the middle of nowhere and still do them.

2 FOR 1 ROMANCE
by Michael   Webb
http://www.TheRomantic.com/

I am always trying to find new  “dates” to keep our relationship fun
and exciting.  Not only will this  idea provide you with dozens of
unique places to have a date, it will also  save you a lot of money.

Nearly every major and even minor city has some  sort of discount
book. The Entertainment books, offering 2 for 1 specials for  lunch,
dinner and other attractions are sold in nearly 100 cities  around
the world. Other discount books are put together by local  Chamber
of Commerces or civic groups as a fundraiser.

When I opened up  my book, not only did I find dozens of new
restaurants I could try out with  my wife, I discovered loads of
other interesting places to go.

There  are two different discount books for our city of 200,000
residents. The one I  purchased this year has discounts for the
planetarium, go-cart rides,  paintball and laser tag games, miniature
golf, the zoo, life & science  museums, train rides and other places
that would make for a wonderful weekend  or evening date.

If you live in a smaller town, but would like to have a  romantic
getaway to a nearby city one weekend, this book might just be  your
ticket. Often there are coupons for symphonies, ballets, plays,
laser  shows and musicals too. There is a section in many books that
gives half  price rooms at hotels across the country.

A weekend in the big city might  cost half as much as you thought
while being twice as  romantic.
