THERE WILL BE NO E-ZINE SENT OUT NEXT WEEK!

It’s official. I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter has hired me to be

Joel Nordell won last week’s romance contest. Actually, I had picked
another winner but they didn’t include a mailing address so Joel won
by default. The full title of my new book is – The RoMANtic’s Guide:
Hundreds of Creative Tips for a Lifetime of Love. You can see the
cover and order it at http://theromantic.com/book.htm

It will be in any day now.

For this week’s contest, the prize is a special review copy of
Creating Harmonious Relationships by Andrew LeCompte.

Please share with me something I can include in my “It’s the Little
Things” section. Remember, it has to be something simple that almost
anyone could do without taking much time or money.

THE QUESTION GAME

A few weeks back some friends came over for dinner. Afterwards we
decided to play a game instead of watching a movie. After all, we
invited them over to spend time with them, not to stare quietly at the
television for two hours together. We weren’t in the mood for cards
or a board game so we improvised and played “The Question Game.” The
very simple object of the game is to get to know one another better.

During the first two rounds we each took turns telling the others one
thing that we liked. Caviar, honest people, hot baths, ice cream
sundaes, helping others succeed, swimming with dolphins and yellow
tulips were some of the comments that were vocalized.

On the third round we each shared with the others one thing we did not
like. We opened up to not liking people who make fun of others or who
are intolerant of other cultures or beliefs. One person didn’t like
beans and another found seafood to be repulsive.

While eating dessert and drinking champagne we repeated the cycle
until we got tired of playing. The best part was that everyone won.
We learned more about each other and became closer friends because of
it. This game is also an excellent non-threatening way to discuss
things you don’t like that your spouse does. For example you can tell
the group that you don’t like seeing people talk with food in their
mouth or use profanity without pointing the finger. Better yet, it is
a way to drop hints about what kind of gifts you would like to receive
and how you would spend your ideal romantic day.

Instead of renting that next movie, play a game where everyone wins!
