I don’t like cut flowers. It’s a personal thing and my honey knew if he gave me red roses for my birthday, I would be less than appreciative.
Instead he masterfully created a bouquet of tiny multi colored balloons, blown up and attached to drinking straws that formed ‘stems’. In the centre of the bouquet he inserted a heart-shaped balloon filled with helium that had “I love you” embossed front and back. He encased the balloon-bouquet in florist’s cellophane and tied it with an elaborate bow, then spritzed the ‘flowers’ with my favorite perfume. I still have the heart-shaped balloon, ten years on. It never deflated, and nor does the memory of my wonderful bouquet.
