WINNER OF AN IDEA

My wife of 12 years has always HATED awards shows, but they have always been a favorite of mine, particularly the Academy Awards. After years of her bemoaning the fact that we had to watch that “boring waste of time,” I decided to become slyly seductive.

The night of the awards show, I came home from work with a bouquet of roses, a miniature gold-foil wrapped chocolate Oscar statue, and a little card I had designed on my computer at work that read, “And the award for the best performance as a wife and mother goes to …” with her name inside the card.

Needless to say, my wife has enjoyed watching the Oscars ever since. It has become another date night for us!
