I did this for Valentine’s Day but it can be modified for any special day. I wanted to do something extra special for my man, something a bit crafty. I got 5 pieces of red poster board paper, a huge black marker and stencil letters. {If you are crafty enough to make your own letters out of paper or your writing is good then just do that}.
I folded one of the red posters and cut out different sized hearts like in kindergarten. I colored some all black, polka dot, striped, etc.. and I already had a poem in my head for the posters. (I’d keep it to 4-5 lines) This is what it said:
These big red cards
Are my special way
Of saying I love you
And happy valentines day!!!
I stenciled one line of the poem onto 4 different posters and glued the hearts for decoration. I got 4 large boxes form work (Outback Steak House’s bread boxes are PERFECT) to tape the poem posters to and a few bricks from home to keep the boxes from moving.
My honey works 3rd shift (11:00pm to 7:30am) so I had to set up for this the night before. With tape, bricks, poem posters and boxes in the car, I got up at 6:45 to set it up. To get home he had to drive 15 blocks down to the last street of the subdivision, so every 2 blocks I placed a poem poster! (poster taped on the box and a brick inside).
The last poem poster was in our yard and his present was on the porch for him.
