My dear runs in marathons. Since he gets a new t-shirt each time he runs, he has dozens of shirts. He doesn’t want to throw them away, since to him, they’re priceless.
Last time he went out of town on business for two weeks, I gathered up all of his shirts. I cut off the front of each shirt, and made him a big quilt (wall hanging). Now he actually gets some use out of the shirts, and the quilt reminds him of the fun he had, and all of the hard work he went through in order to participate in his sport.
We have it hanging on the wall of our workout room, and he says it’s the best gift he’s ever received.
