THAT’S AMORE

I once gave my wife a basket containing all the necessary ingredients for a pasta dinner. I did not just give her a box of Mac and Cheese or spaghetti with Ragu sauce. I included her favorite noodles. Gemelli are two pasta strands twisted around each other and look like they are in love. I shopped at an Italian grocery store for a small brick of real Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese. I bought her favorite spaghetti sauce. The kind that comes in a Mason jar, and costs double the price of the run of the mill brands. 

It included a small bottle of extra virgin olive oil, and a baguette (French bread). To complete the basket and to give it the final romantic touch, I placed a couple of garlic cloves on top. Had I known then about her love of Italian songs, I would have included a CD by Andre Bocelli.

Lady and the tramp never had a more romantic meal.
