I have come up with three different love letters for my wife Jennifer that have been inspired by the Proverbs 31:10-31.
First, when my small group was studying Proverbs 31, which is a passage about a wife of noble character, we wrote down praises of our wives that came to mind while reading the chapter. Then we each translated our notes into a love letter. My wife loves it!
Then, I decided it would be fun to take the King James Version of the passage, and change a few words here and there, so it would apply perfectly to Jenn. I have not given her this letter yet, but I think
she’ll probably enjoy it as well.
My third idea comes from the form of the Bible passage. Each verse of Proverbs 31:10-31 starts with a different letter in Hebrew, going right through the whole alphabet. So I’m writing a love poem where each line starts with a different letter of the alphabet. I haven’t finished this one yet; it’s a little harder than I thought. I think it will be worth the work, though.
