POWER OF PRAYER

romantic-letters-present-military-romance-ideasMy husband is in the Army National Guard and we’ve had quite a few periods of separation. During one separation in particular, I decided to write letters to him ahead of time so he could have something to open from me every couple of days. Since he wasn’t able to carry extra baggage, letters were the only thing he could fit. Twice a week, he opened letters filled with loving words and little gifts (including cards with encouraging quotes on them and recent photos of us). Although it wasn’t much, it helped remind him of home and helped him get through the hard times.
Also, just recently he was sent away for 15 months. Although this is our toughest situation yet, we are starting the journey by reading the books, “The Power of a Praying Wife” and “The Power of a Praying Husband” by Stormie Omartian. Although we will not be able to discuss them in person, we will discuss the books over email and phone, sharing our dreams and goals and praying for each other on a daily basis. We both believe romance and closeness will continue to be a part of our lives, even during our separation, as long as we stay close to God and keep the communication lines open.
