When I found out I was pregnant with our first child, I immediately called the florist and had them send him a flower arrangement in a ceramic baby bootie vase – then I waited for him to receive it at work and call me.  He was very surprised and happy.  We still have the vase in our hope chest, and he wrote the date he found out on the bottom of it with a permanent marker.
