One evening I was cooking supper, hoping to have it ready before my honey got home from work. I was in a blah mood, because he and I hadn’t really had any romantic time together in a long while.
He is a first year teacher and a kindergarten teacher at that. It was only the second month of school (so I am sure you can imagine how tired he is at the end of the day. I am a student, but I have to drive an hour back and forth to school, and that really makes me tired.
I was cooking spaghetti and meat balls (his favorite). It was then that I decided to make our evening romantic. While the food was still cooking, I made a mad dash and cleaned off our dinning table, put down a table cloth, set up candles, made name tags (real simple ones, just folded a piece, of paper in half and drew his name on one, and mine on one plus I drew squiggle lines to make them look cute) and decorated with confetti (which thankfully we had some left at the house from one of my honeys class projects).
I had supper on the table, the candles lit, and the lights off just in time to see my honey pull into our driveway. I will never forget the look on his face, the tears sparkling in his eyes, and the smile on his face.
While it may have been quick and easy, it was just what we needed to rekindle the romance between us.
