I’M SORRY SONGS

this-is-where-you-can-send-someone-a-love-letter-song-dating-romantic-im-sorry-mailbox-ideaTo make up after a fight, I recorded two songs that were appropriate. I bought some nice stationery at Kinko’s with butterflies on it (representing change) and typed up the lyrics. One of the songs was in Spanish, so I translated it on one side of the paper. At the beginning of the tape, I “read” a very long love letter that explained why I was sorry and asked for forgiveness, I talked about all the daily ways this person had made a difference in my life and what I loved about them. After this audio love letter came the two songs. I mailed this to the person at work so it would be more unexpected and they could listen to it in the car on the way home after a long day.

I thought this was cool because it feels very EXPOSING to record your own voice and somehow more permanent than a simple letter or card.  It’s much more expressive and I thought it set the mood for the music that followed.
