For our anniversary, I made seven little note cards on some fancy stationary. On them, I wrote a clue to what we were going to do on our special day. My wife worked at a bank at the time. On the week prior to the event, I drove up to her “drive up window” each day and handed her a clue card and drove away without anything but a smile on my face. She would read the card and wonder. Each day, the suspense built. All the women at the bank looked forward to my arrival! On the last day, her card was attached to a single red rose.
I had packed an overnight bag while she was working. In it, I packed some chocolate, strawberries, cold wine, glasses, candles, new lingerie, and many other amenities I won’t mention.
I picked her up at work and whisked her away for a night at a bed & breakfast. We had a beautiful dinner before checking in. I hid a ring box in the bread basket, with a ‘mothers ring’ inside. She was really surprised when she returned from the powder room and reached for a roll under the linen napkin!
No phones, no radios, no TV’s… just each other. I drew her a hot bath, (with candles and bubbles) and bathed her. After her pampering, we had a romantic candle lit -picnic on the bed. We toasted to ourselves with the bottle of wine, some strawberries, and played some sexy games until we fell asleep in one another’s arms.
A perfect weekend of romance. She loved it, and so did all the girls at work, as they demanded all the details on Monday!
