WELPUM HOME MOMMY

I had been working very hard and really needed a break from life so my husband suggested I set up a girls weekend. Well, he didn’t have to twist my arm to get the ball rolling. I called a couple of girlfriends and we all flew to a central location and had a wonderful time. I was only gone for the weekend but obviously my family missed me.

They were all there to meet me at the airport, my husband, my 9 year old daughter and my 3 year old son. The kids painted this huge “WELCOME HOME MOM” banner with flowers, dinosaurs, planes and anything else they could think of. It was really great and stretched across the waiting area of the terminal. My son yells at the top of his lungs for all to hear, “welpum home Mommy.” Needless to say, the tears started rolling down my cheeks. My husband stood in the background not wanting upstage what the kids had done. He was holding a beautiful bouquet of Gerber daisies, my favorite. It was nice to be away but this homecoming was so special because it really came from the heart.
